Stage 1 Parramatta Light Rail is a 12-kilometre route that will connect Westmead to Carlingford via Parramatta and Camelia. It will be an attractive transport choice connecting residential, employment, cultural and education precincts across Western Sydney and integrates with the broader Sydney transport network at Westmead.
As part of the tender stage, we modelled and optimised using VISSIM microsimulation the Great River City Light Rail (GRCLR) Tender Design with respect to signalling operation and how the modelling assessments meet the requirements of the Tender Schedule with respect to LRV and traffic operation.
We worked collaboratively as part of the GRCLR team to calibrate the VISSIM models to ensure they accurately reflect the GRCLR LRV characteristics and improve light rail and traffic performance through signal principles changes and optimisation.
Following the award of contract to GRCLR, we are currently providing transport modelling and advice for the delivery of the Supply, Operate and Maintain Contract.
