About Us
As a specialist transport modelling and analytics company, TMA consists of a diverse group of individuals, united in our passion for delivering quality advice to our clients, that allows you to move your projects forward with confidence.
We are specialist transport modellers, traffic engineers and data analysts united under the TMA brand since 2012.
As a consultancy, we maintain affiliations built over many years with experienced transport modellers throughout Australia and around the world.
These professionals complement our skills, so we can form the most appropriate and cost-effective team for each client project.
Our full-time staff of transport modellers — all based in Sydney — has extensive experience in helping our clients understand how congested transport networks operate.
TMA’s flat structure means our work is always reviewed by experienced directors before we release it to clients.
Simon Kinnear
Director and lead modeller of TMA
Simon is a transport planner and traffic engineer with market leading experience in a wide range of transport modelling packages and has been developing and applying optimal transport modelling solutions for congested networks both in Australia and internationally for 24 years. For a copy of Simon’s Capability Statement, click here. Simon is seeking to raise awareness of opportunities to optimise infrastructure design and network wide solutions to bottleneck management and has been frequently called-upon to lead dedicated traffic teams in the delivery of large-scale projects or act in the review role for state government agencies. He is co-convener of the AITPM Modelling Workshop at the 2012 National Conference in Sydney.

Victor Leung
Principal Transport Modeller
Victor is a senior transport modeller at TMA with extensive experience in transport planning, design and analysis. He uses operational traffic modelling packages such as VISSIM, Aimsun, SIDRA (network and intersection), LinSig, and Commuter to analyse traffic operations to optimise traffic flow within the SCATS signal environment. Victor’s initial training as a geotechnical engineer gives him a healthy scepticism of model assumptions and outputs. This helps ensure our advice is based on real world behaviours rather than a simple extraction of model results.

Ahmed Nahian
Senior Transport Modeller
Ahmed is a transport planner who realised that the path to becoming a good modeller requires an inquisitive mind with an eye for detail.
He has completed many transport planning, design and analysis projects for TMA and now, as a senior modeller, applies various traffic modelling packages and analytics tools to better understand network and geometric constraints.
He uses complex modelling and spatial analysis of large multi-source datasets to undertake network performance studies, deficiency analyses and trend identification to provide clear and interpretative evidence-based advice which supports shaping the future of transport.

Rohith Poyil
Transport Modeller & GIS
TMA is broadening its skill-set with the arrival of Rohith Poyil to our team, he has been working in Nanyang Technological University, Singapore and delivering some interesting GIS projects including: Walking-Cycling demand modelling, Pedestrian Safety Modelling and Analysis, Public Transport Modelling using GIS and Urban Agglomeration Impact Analysis. Rohith’s methodical application of large data-sets benefits network-wide modelling, through the application of GIS, which can bring to bear on our projects.
